Reindeer Cookies

1 min read

The perfect no-bake and tonnes-of-fun Christmas cookie project for the kids! Remember kitchen benches were made to get messy so Christmas memories can be made. So, deep breath and dive in...their sticky little faces will beam with the fun of spending time with you, licking their fingers and sneaking the odd lolly or three into that pinafore pocket.

Ingredients

  • Milk chocolate for melting
  • Strawberries and cream lollies
  • Milk arrowroot biscuits
  • Edwards pretzels
  • Sprinks baking eyes

Method

  1. Melt the chocolate and make sure its at a spreadable but not too hot temperature. All the bits and pieces need to be added whilst the chocolate is still pliable...aka don’t let it set before they’re finished.
  2. If you want clear defined edges, pipe the chocolate in an oval and then fill in the oval, tapping the biscuit at the end to even out the spread
  3. The kids can just go at it all with a chocolate covered spoon if you’re looking for the artistic approach!
  4. The chocolate has to be thick enough for the pretzel antlers to sink in and hold. Suggest doing one at a time, pausing to press in slightly so the chocolate can “grab” it. This might be the one part the kids need help with depending on age.
  5. Add eyes (doesn’t matter if they’re not even, makes for an even cuter look at the end!)
  6. Add noses
  7. When the chocolate is set, they’re done!
  8. Can speed up the setting part in the fridge so as to get to the eating part sooner xx
